Kailani as Sacajawea

4th grade is the year that they really focus on Idaho history. Each of my past 4th graders have got to participate in the Lewis and Clarke play, but Kailani was our first child who wanted a staring role. She didn't tell us she was auditioning for a major part until she had already made it through half of the auditions. It was really fun to watch her learn the lines and help her practice. She wanted to be Sacajawea, and was so excited when she got the part. It included a lot of speaking, as well as a singing solo. I don't know where she gets her preforming confidence from (not from Ryan or me), but it sure made us happy to see her shine!
